The Roast Collection

Warm up this June with The Roast Collection: 50+ food, wine and beer events.

The humble roast is set to take centre stage this winter with The Roast Collection – a tantalising tribute to the season’s favourite dish with over 50 events across Victoria throughout June, from the makers of Melbourne Food and Wine Festival.

The Roast Collection celebrates Victoria’s bountiful produce as some of the state’s top restaurants, gastropubs, wineries and producers serve up their take on the much-loved roast. Let retro roasts reign supreme at Huxtable with classic winter dishes; settle down by the fire at Royal Mail Hotel on Spencer for roasted fare with a glass of robust red; or enjoy the market’s finest local produce at Cutler & Co. with a warming hearty lunch.

Taste traditional roasts from around the world including Argentinean slow-roast Gippsland beef at True South, a Franco-German feast at Union Dining, an Asian-style roast at Red Spice Road and Nepalese roasted goat at Tuck’s Ridge Cafe. Resurrect the lost arts and uncover the secret of making the perfect roast at home with hands-on classes and demonstrations, from cooking up the crunchiest pork crackling at My Other Kitchen, to learning the art of butchery at Queenscliff’s Vue Grand.

Venture to regional Victoria and embrace the Put Victoria on Your Table philosophy at lunches, dinners and workshops across the state. Roll up your sleeves at Bright Brewery (High Country) to make their next batch of Hellfire Amber Ale, or tuck into nose-to-tail rare-breed pork matched to crisp cider at The Long Table (Mornington Peninsula).

Put Victoria on Your Table is a campaign led by the makers of Melbourne Food and Wine Festival and supported by the Department of Business and Innovation.
