Two talented cooks, Toni Mc Analen from WA and Rod Parbery from NSW battled against the clock and each other for the chance to plate up their futures at the HOSTPLUS Cook For Your Career Grand Finale Cook-off at the Melbourne Food & Wine Festival 'Cellar Door & Artisan Market' event Saturday, March 2, 2013. Cook For Your Career (C4YC) is a national initiative started by HOSTPLUS that offers the winning finalist a full apprenticeship at a leading restaurant in their home state. This year at the Grand Finale Cook-off, Rod Parbery won an apprenticeship at Peter Doyle @ the Quay! Launched in 2011, the C4YC competition not only gives passionate foodies the opportunity to realise their dream of a career in the kitchen, it also supports the Australian hospitality industry in finding and building quality chef talent. As the hospitality industry's leading super fund, HOSTPLUS was keen to assist in addressing the national skills shortage and low apprenticeship take-up and retention rate currently burdening the industry.
