The inaugural festival La Coa de Oro, or The Golden Coa, centres around a competition between the local jimadores, specialist field workers that harvest the agave piñas from which tequila is produced. It brought with it massive celebrations the likes of which are seldom seen in tequila-producing Los Altos region of Jalisco, Mexico.
