School Holidays Set To Heat Up For Mantra Group In Queensland


The great migration north to warmer waters has started - and not just for the whales – with a busy school holiday period forecast says Australian accommodation providers, Mantra Group. But there are still some great last minute deals to secure some time in the sun.

With over 45 hotels and resorts across Queensland under the Peppers, Mantra and BreakFree brands, Director of Resort Operations Mark Hodge said that families were heading to relaxing low-key destinations to escape the winter cold.

“Tropical North Queensland is a popular choice given the region is about to experience its best weather, but overall the Queensland coast has some real hot spots that school holiday travellers are targeting this year,” he said.

“Across the board occupancy is on the increase and rates, whilst holding strong, are fluctuating between regions.”

The North Queensland hamlet of Palm Cove in particular is experiencing solid occupancy levels with Peppers Beach Club & Spa and Mantra Amphora achieving an 8% increase in occupancy compared to last year.

Whilst the whales haven’t quite reached Hervey Bay yet, families are flocking to the coastal town to enjoy its peaceful atmosphere and combine with trips to Fraser Island. Mantra Group’s three properties in the region are performing well with an occupancy increase of around 4% at Peppers Pier Resort, Mantra Hervey Bay and BreakFree Great Sandy Straits.
