Meet Mr Nice Guy Thai Restaurant Melbourne City

Meet Mr Nice Guy, the authentic southern Thai restaurant/café with a vibrant personality on Little Lonsdale Street. Tucked away down a laneway, and with a new lunch and dinner menu presenting unexpected items, this quirky little restaurant overhauls traditional Asian dining with a range of classic and contemporary dishes within unique and colourful surrounds.

The lunch menu offers “From The Pot”, featuring green curry chicken and massamun curry beef served with roasted winter vegetables, and choice of brown rice, white rice or vermicelli; “Wok Me Up” Pad Thai, boasting Tiger prawns; and “Snack Attack”, to beat the craving with pork sausage or perhaps a tasting plate.

The dinner menu does suggest you are in the company of Mr Nice Guy, including “By Your Side”, offering a selection of comforting roast vegetables, and “Warm You Up”, with freshly shucked pacific oysters guaranteed to humour your tastebuds.

Mr Nice Guy’s dinner specialties include freshly grilled baby barramundi, Asian salad and nam jim, as well as the decadent Hurstbridge pork belly, kha na, chilli-garlic and oyster sauce foam.
Mr Nice Guy specialty, Som Tum salad, features in both lunch and dinner menus, offering green papaya, bird eye chilli, tomato, green been and carrot to warm you up on these chilly winter nights. There is also the option of adding your favourite protein cured and home smoked Salmon or poached and car grilled chicken breast, to name a few.

Get the warm and fuzzies in the company of family and friends, with Mr Nice Guy’s “Sharing is caring”, and chose from a whole chicken, Som Tum, beef, pork belly, smoky tofu and sticky rice, guaranteed to bring about smiles all round.

To sign off the experience is “Sweet Tooth”, offering a zesty lemongrass cheesecake with smoked pineapple or a Thai tea panna cotta, meringue and lemon sphere, conjuring a blend of the sweet and tangy.

Mr Nice Guy is the second venture of Pla (Siriporn Liamthong) and partner, David Holtum, who are the creators behind the highly successful Middle Fish. A link between the two restaurants is Thai Artist Torlarp’s Larpjaroensook, who was commissioned to bring his colourful and multi-modal approach to decorating to Mr Nice Guy.

With creative and beautiful decoration, and a menu to keep things interesting, Mr Nice Guy is most definitely the nicest guy on the block.
