Family Trip to Hong Kong? Here's some suggestions

Thinking about a family trip to Hong Kong? Then take a look at our top ten places as recommended by one of our Wine.Food.Hotel members.

1. Hong Kong Disneyland (Lantau) – the ideal ages for children are between 3 and 8. There are (2) hotels there if you wish to stay overnight.

2. Great Buddhu and Cable Cars (Lantau) – we went here the first time and it would be more ideal for older kids say 10 years plus. Google it to get an idea of how big it is.

3. Lantau is out near the airport and roughly about 45 minutes from Central.

4. Hong Kong Park – Great playground for smaller children there is also a large outdoor bird aviary and water features.

5. Hong Kong Zoo – is free it is not very big and it again would be better suited for smaller children. The animals include orangatangs, flamingos, large turtles and Chinese alligators.

6. Hong Kong Park and Hong Kong Zoo are only about 5 minutes walk from each other and they are only a 10 minute walk from Central.

7. Star Ferry – you can catch the Star Ferrys across Hong Kong harbour to Kowloon (mainland) and then walk along the walk of fame of the Chinese actors there is also a statue of Bruce Lee. There is also the “Ladies Market” at Kowloon which starts mid afternoon. The Star Ferry is very cheap I think it was $5HK dollars one way for an adult.
