Citadines on Bourke - Review

When visiting Melbourne visitors are spoilt for choice with accommodation options. One establishment that stands out from the crowd, with excellent service and more amenities than you could ask for, is Citadines on Bourke Street.

Unlike most Melbourne hotels, Citadines on Bourke is one of the few Apart ‘ Hotels located at the top end of Melbourne, right near parliament station with easy access to both business and leisure facilities. Another advantage of the 380 room residence is the view. Stay in a top floor room and you are guaranteed an uncluttered sight that showcases Melbourne’s true beauty day and night. Wine.Food.Hotel stayed on the 25th Floor and were amazed at the different perspectives one can have of Melbourne just from sitting and watching from the privacy of their own bedroom. See the sun rise over the Port Phillip Bay or wait for dusk to engulf the city and make buildings twinkle amongst the orange lined sky. Talk about value for money, this view is priceless.

The great thing about Citadines is the wonderful balance the hotel has achieved between luxury and convenience. Being an Apart ’ Hotel means that that every room is not only stylish, comfortable and generous in size, but comes with a fully equipped kitchenette, modern bathroom, steam iron and ironing board, home entertainment system, telephone and, depending on the room, your own washing machine and dryer. If conducting business from your room or just bringing a device to browse the internet, Citadines also have complimentary wireless broadband internet, which we think is fantastic, as most city center hotels charge for this service feature.

Citadines is walking distance from all of the CBD’s great eateries, hop over the road for a low key dining style at Pellegrini’s, Mamasitas, and European or for a more high end experience, restaurants like Little Hunter on little Collins or Grossi Florentino are a stone throw away and great wine bars such as the City Wine Shop or Siglo are just around the corner.

If you’d rather stay indoors for a night, take advantage of the great facilities such as the fully equipped fitness corner, heated lap pool, outdoor sundeck and sauna room.

No matter what brings you to Melbourne, Citadines has a room that caters for everyone. Choose from a studio deluxe, or studio executive, perfect for those on business, or stay in a one or two bedroom deluxe or executive, both great for couples and families. Each room has been designed with flexible services to suit even the busiest lifestyle, so no matter what your agenda, the friendly staff at Citadines are there to assist and recommend solutions to your every need.

If your after a hotel that feels like a home away from home, right in the heart of the vibrant city center look no further than Citadines on Bourke, possibly one of the most livable Apart ’ Hotels in one of the most livable cities in the world.
