Celebrate the Festive Season at The Tasting Table Wine Shop

If you’re looking to buy some unique wines this Christmas season, The Tasting Table Wine Shop has a wide selection of wines from independent vineyards that you don’t often find in mass-market wine stores.

Owned by young, British wine expert, Jack Mullard, The Tasting Table places strong emphasis on European and Australian family-run vineyards. Their store carries lesser-known wine labels and prefers to support smaller vineyards allowing for greater diversity. A sample of these boutique wines include:

  • Whisson Lake, Adelaide Hills - La Storia Rose Pinot Noir 2011 (winemaker Tom Munro was nominated for Young Gun of Wine award 2012)
  • Made By Allies, Victoria - Colbinabbin Shiraz 2010 and Main Ridge Pinot Noir 2011 (winemaker David Chapman)
  • Denton Hill, Yarra Valley (winemakers include William Downie, Mac Forbes, Barney Flanders and David Chapman)
  • Lithostylis, Gippsland Chardonnay Viognier 2010 and Ironstone Pinot Noir 2010
  • Schloss Schonborn, Germany – Trocken (Dry) Riesling 2010 and Feinherb Riesling 2010.

The Tasting Table also stocks whisky, craft beers, traditional ciders, Highland to Lowland British ale and home-grown Australian crafted brews.

This December, The Tasting Table is holding these exciting events:

The Tasting Table’s Tasting Club – Thursday 13th December (6-10pm)

Indulge with a selection of 24 different wines from around the world for only $5. The Tasting Club is held on the second Thursday of every month. It's a great opportunity to meet like-minded people who love to drink good wine, and to sample a fine selection of delicious wines.

Christmas Wine & Produce Market – Saturday 15th December (1-5pm)

Try a range of local and foreign cheeses and meats, or venture inside to sample the wines at The Tasting Table’s shop front mini-market. There are also Christmas wine hampers available starting at $37 – the perfect gift for wine lovers this Christmas.

White Burgundy and Chablis (Chardonnay) Experience, Tuesday 18th December (7-9pm)

Learn your Mersault from your Chablis and the wonderful history of the Burgundy region in France. When you drink the wines from this region you really feel the wine has been made with a lot of love, care and years of dedication. The French word terroir can be loosely translated to “a sense of place” which is very prominent in Burgundian wines.
