Christianshavn is like a town in the middle of the city of Copenhagen, surrounded by water. Christianshavn was founded in 1619 and many houses are very old and crooked. During the years the area has developed from working class to a bohemian part of town. Life in the former maritime quarter is still centered along the canal where people are enjoying themselves at the waterfront. Christianshavn is where you find the the free town of Christiania, where locals and tourists go because of the special atmosphere. Also Christianshavn is home to high scale restaurants, of which two are Michelin starred. The Nordic cuisine restaurant Noma has two Michelin stars, and Italian reataurant Era Ora, owned by Elvio Milleri that appears in the film, has one. Elvio Milleri also runs Italian restaurant Laltro in Christianshavn. Read more about Copenhagen and Copenhagen restaurants at www.visitcopenhagen.com
