Bacon Week was held between 15 - 21 March. It is designed to educate consumers to be able to differentiate bacon made with Australian pork from those made with imported pork, and encourage bacon lovers to explore the wide variety of meal opportunities that premium Australian bacon can provide beyond the weekend breakfast. The inaugural event The Australian PorkMark Bacon Awards for Excellence was open to butchers and smallgoods processors who make bacon from 100 per cent Australian pork.
