New Online Gourmet Farmers Market Launches

If you've ever wished you had access to the Farmers Market all week long, well this might just solve your problems.

A pioneering new virtual ‘Farmers’ Market’ is now home-delivering quality gourmet goods direct from independent producers from across the country. We love the idea.

Foodo is an exciting new website that showcases smaller Australian gourmet players and their specialty produce in a bid to connect them with the foodies who are seeking something new.
Developed by two Sydney food enthusiasts Daniel Felice and Ruth Reilly, the duo is working to bridge the gap between independent producers who may not be distributed widely and passionate food-lovers who appreciate fresh, quality, handmade produce.

“We have made it our mission to bring food-lovers locally-made, mouth watering gourmet treats that will not only keep everyone happy but also enable them to support our local, independent Australian food makers,” Reilly said. “There’s something about handmade food that makes it taste better. Perhaps it's the lack of additives or the fact it hasn't been mass- produced and imported. Or perhaps it’s simply because it’s been made with love in your own backyard.”

Foodo offers a fresh approach to shopping online because it’s not just another website that lists food products. Foodo instead invites visitors into the world of each producer, introducing the people behind the product. “Our food makers have passed the taste test and we have ensured the products found on Foodo are both unique and amazing,” Felice said.

While the entrepreneurial pair is always keeping an eye out for emerging producers to add to their offer, the site also gives fellow foodies the opportunity to share their own gourmet discoveries. As Reilly said, it’s all about building a sense of community. “Like a physical food market, we wanted to create a home for our food makers and customers alike,” she said. “We don’t want to be another faceless website and we are constantly cooking up ideas to make Australia’s foodies part of the experience.” Taste-testing parties and ‘Foodo Friday’ are just two of these concepts soon to launch, with more details to come on the site.
