David's in Prahran Releases New Lunch and Dinner Menus

David Zhou of Davidʼs in Prahran is always experimenting with new dishes inspired by his beloved Shanghai. Thankfully winter is almost behind us and David has fine-tuned his palette and turned his imagination to the delightful flavour combinations of Spring.

Fresh from his test kitchen, David has introduced a range of brand new dishes to both the Davidʼs lunch and dinner menu. Davidʼs new ʻChop Chopʼ lunch menu serves ʻeveryday street eatsʼ. A recent addition of brown rice and soup dishes are healthy highlights and all items are designed to be served in under 5 minutes and are priced under $12. Customers can even call in their order to pick up and have it ready by the time they get there.

Take home options include the soupy brew Peasants Tonic ($4) a hearty pork chop broth with mixed Asian mushrooms and corncobs, or go with what has been dubbed as the ʻBest Noodle Soup Ever!ʼ - a meal in a bowl with a choice of chicken, mushroom and vegetables or seafood. Swimming in these tasty broths are egg noodles for slurping satisfaction and generous chunks of meat or seafood and plenty of nutritious vegetables. Chili can be added for some extra zing.

The Davidʼs dinner dishes offer DIY Pork belly buns, which are served with sweet slabs of slow cooked pork belly are the perfect way to whet the appetite for the meal ahead. Crispy fried Iron Buddha Beef is served on a generous nest of aromatic Iron Buddha tea leaves, allowing the fragrant flavours of oolong tea to infuse the beef. While a new delicate dish of Butterfly Barramundi is intriguing as it is both crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, and is served in a savory chili soy dressing.

Davidʼs dishes were recently described as: “Crowd pleasers – having just enough amount of street food cred.” This is just one indication to Davidʼs determination to serve excellent food at an accessible price that everyone can enjoy.
